Vice President JD Vance said Tuesday that the law should follow the facts, not invent them to prosecute people the administration dislikes. He also said there are serious allegations against Ilhan Omar, that those allegations will be looked into, and that a real case gets followed while a case that is not real does not. That is the standard he put on the record this morning.

Monday, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant at Omar's Washington-area home as part of an ongoing federal criminal investigation, the Justice Department said. Jeff posted that enemy-of-the-people media is seething and spinning the timing near the midterms even though the probe has been underway for months, and that law and order applies to everyone. Shannon answered the police-state talk by asking what it was when Biden raided Mar-a-Lago. Omar says she will not be silenced and denies the allegations. President Trump said the raid is up to the Justice Department. No charges are the headline yet. The allegations are, and Vance said so out loud.

The Texas vote is Ken Paxton. Fox News reported that Trump-linked MAGA Inc. unveiled a 10 million dollar ad buy on Saturday to back Paxton in the Texas Senate race against James Talarico, the group's first major general-election expenditure. Senate Majority Leader John Thune said last week the president's resources have to be brought to bear on Texas because that seat is not one Republicans can lose if they mean to hold the Senate. Saturday's buy is not a fresh drop this morning. It is the ballot the title is pointing at. Show up for it.

Do not sit the midterms out. At a Tennessee rally on Saturday, President Trump said that if Republicans do not win, he will be blamed, and that people better get out there and vote. At the Dallas convention, Vance told Republicans not to hand the country over to a bunch of crazy people over a policy disagreement here or there. Iowa Republicans told Fox News they are fired up and do not plan to sit on the sidelines. The House map is tight. The Senate is still in play. A protest sit-out is a gift to the other side.
